The Braves Lost to a Team They Outscore by 161 Runs

The Braves lost 4-2 in Minneapolis Monday night and the picture did not move. Atlanta is 74-51 with the fourth best record in baseball and a +115 run differential, behind only the Dodgers and Brewers. Minnesota is 22nd at -46. That is a 161 run gap, and for one night none of it showed up.

One loss doesn't move this2026 run differential, all 30 MLB teams. Twins sit at -46.ATL +115OutscoredEvenOutscoring

The whole game fit in the first inning. Four Twins runs off Martín Pérez. He threw four scoreless after that and the bullpen allowed one hit the rest of the way. The offense answered with a two run fifth and nothing else, seven hits, eight stranded.

One team is plus 115 over five months. The other stranded eleven runners and still won by two. Baseball does this. Same building tonight, 6:40 CT.
